Real Madrid are “ready to do business” with Roma over the summer, according to a report in the Italian media.
The 26-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and has reportedly turned down offers from Arsenal and Manchester City, but a move to the San Siro would be a massive coup for the La Liga giants.
Morata, who is currently on loan at Roma, is the third Roma player to leave the club this summer, following David Villa and Gennaro Gattuso.
The player is also known for his work ethic and is currently one of the highest-paid midfielders in the Serie A. He has scored a total of seven goals in 39 appearances this season, but the Roma coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that his team’s squad is not yet ready for a new contract.
Roma, however, have also reportedly had interest in a return to the Champions League this season after being knocked out of the Europa League by Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri have also been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s star Neymar, with the Spain midfielder set to make a big move to Europe this summer.
